Edward for Christmas

It's the last Saturday before Christmas. In the evening we went over to Jacque's house to spend time with her and Arlena. We gave each other gifts.
Jacque got a slideshow keychain with great pictures of Michael Caine, Gene Hackman, Ron Howard and other great actors.

We gave Arlena an Edward Barbie and Arlena had one for Jacque too. They're both crazy for Twilight.

We had tacos (I had a fruit dip taco because nobody told me that what I thought was sour cream was actually fruit dip), we talked, Emily and Parker watched The Emperor's New Groove and Linkin was happy the whole time. After dinner I went into Jacque's little studio to shoot pictures of the Edward dolls for day #43 of my 365 Day Toy Project.

Jacque has a really nice set-up. The one thing I'm missing are some good lamps.
She let me try out her little studio and I'm happy with how the photos turned out.

Stefan talks about a great movie

Talked to Stefan tonight. It was fun.
He told me about a Christmas show he was watching. You can read about it below.
He says it's an American show but it doesn't sound familiar.

He says it's great and if you know what he's talking about you should definitely watch it. LOL.

New Food

Hi Axel. I'm updating today just for you and Jamie.
I went out to the Megaplex 20 today to take another photo for the new Smokey's BBQ place.
New Smokey's
I don't like BBQ but maybe you should try it sometime.
BBQ Chicken, potato salad, corn bread and baked beans

Here's something I should've posted on December 7th. Remember how my banner designs were too childish? Well, somebody decided to decorate the theatre with creepy floating heads.
Floating Heads

Frightened Girl Elf
Icee
I would file this idea under Epic Fail. Not just because they're creepy and "Adult" looking, but because it also gives little kids with nothing better to do the chance to take them and put them in inappropriate places.

Yeah... creepy head stickers are a great idea.

So, after I gave Jamie a ride home tonight I went and did some Christmas shopping. My tank was empty so I had to get some gas. Before I pumped the gas I went into the gas station to get two hot dogs and a Mango Gatorade. I wanted to make a chili dog but unfortunately the chili dispenser had a spray nozzle.

Crepe Night

I took some pictures today of the new food items that will be available at Peter's 4th restaurant. First there was Matilda's, then O'Brian's, Little Italy and now Smokey's. The new Smokey's will be replacing Little Italy at the Megaplex 20 around December 16th I think.

In the evening Jamie & Axel came over for Emily's crepes.

We had dinner and then we played with the kids and watched the Glutton Olympics. Five guys compete to see who can eat the most butter in five minutes and then five other guys compete to see who can eat the most mayonnaise. The winner ate something like four salad bowls of mayonnaise. YUMMY! 10,000 calories.
I'm preparing for the Nutella Competition.

Vintage Fail

Today was the second attempt of trying to create a Christmas image to display on the outside wall of the Megaplex Theatre. My first images we're too childlike. A few people didn't like the cheerful cartoon images and want something more vintage.
I'm not an amazing artist and I usually just draw cute little characters. Vintage? What's that? Ok, so I have an idea of what vintage is but why would we want to display old vintage images on the outside of the theatre? We're a theatre, not a museum. In my opinion the banners should be more inviting.
So, anyway, I gave it a shot and failed. Now whoever is decorating the inside of the theatre with their "vintage" stuff might have something for the outside as well. We'll see.
The project could've been done and delivered on time for the December 1st deadline but now it's on hold. We'll see what vintage stuff will be displayed or if this project is simply forgotten about.
I won't be surprised if nothing is done.

So... after creating four different images,
I have done one of the freshest wastes ever.
Ok, so I created something that won't be used to decorate the theatre, but I learned a few new things about Illustrator and I've decided I'm going to use my designs for Christmas cards.
Plus, Becky, the kids, and other family and friends like my work and really that means more to me than what some co-worker thinks.

Toys and Twilight

It's been a while since my last post. I'm more of a photographer than a writer and I've really been getting into taking pictures of all my toys ever since my birthday. Gogo gave me a macro lens and Becky's parents gave me a couple of backdrops.
So recently I started a 365 day toy photography project. I take a picture of a toy every day for 365 days. You can see my toy shots here. I love toys.

Today the New Moon madness started. The Twilight Event was a big hit and I took some pictures of the event. A bunch of beauty school girls talked me into letting them turn me into Edward. I saw the movie in a special advance screening and it's not on my favorite vampire/werewolf movie list (I almost fell asleep in the screening), but I love dressing up.

Being sick isn't so bad

I've been sick since Wednesday. It's not too fun. I've got a nasty cough again like I did back in April.
Today I thought I'd be home with Linkin, but then Parker threw up in his class room and Becky had to pick him up and bring him home. Emily was ok and when she got home from school the four of us sat on the couch and watched Kid vs Kat. The kids like it but to me cartoons seem to be getting stranger and stranger.
Being sick is total crap but watching cartoons for hours with my kids is great.

After a few hours of Kid vs Kat and the Disney Goofy Movie Linkin fell asleep.
When he woke up he played with Parker.

When Becky got home she made something different and really delicious!

That's enough blogging for now. The NEW SpongeBob episode Truth or Square is on!

H

The holiday started off with bloody crepes that Emily and Mommy made. They were delicious.
Bloody Crepe with Nutella
Then Linkin had his first taste of rice cereal. He liked it.
After breakfast I went with Parker to clean the storage and gather up the few remaining items, including the bike my Dad left for Parker.
Parker loves it.

Parker was a birthday present and Emily a mummy.

Thomas came over to join in the fun. He brought a Gonk Droid with and Josh who was Spider-Man.
Gonk Droid and T-Rex
The Gonk Droid (Sony) couldn't move very fast. The two of them decided to just stand on the street corner and pose for photographs from all the fans who walked by in amazement. Everybody couldn't believe that there was a giant Gonk Droid roaming the streets. It definitely won Best Costume of the Night!

Demon Night
True fans of Star Wars knew exactly what was walking through the neighborhood. Other people thought it was Wall-E, or maybe a refrigerator, a TV or maybe it's an ATM.
Gogo also came by and joined us. Linkin was excited to see her.
