Becky's the Best!

Becky wanted to go out on a date tonight. Amber came over to watch the kids and then we drove into the city. Thank you Amber.
We went to Siegfried's. I had never been there before and it was a really nice surprise. It's a little German delicatessen and it has all kinds of German food and goodies.
She took me through the little deli and showed me all the stuff they have. Zwieback, Marzipan, Herringe, Milka, Odol, Fa and a lot more. Except they don't have Luftschokolade.
I ordered us some food in German. The woman was really happy to help us.

I ordered the Bratwurst with Bratkartoffeln and Sauerkraut and Becky got the Gurken Salat with Sauerkraut.
It was delicious!

They even had Kinderschokolade. Just don't eat too much of it all at once. I had a bad experience long ago.
Then we drove over to The Gateway. We were thinking of watching a movie at the Megaplex 12, but we got there at 8:00pm and everything started at nine. So instead we went for a walk through the plaza. We saw the Hot Topic store and had to go in. We love Hot Topic.
Inside we saw cool Michael Jackson stuff (which gave us some ideas for Parker's birthday), cool belt buckles (for my birthday), Twilight stuff (for Emily's birthday), Harry Potter stuff (for Becky's Birthday) and a BIOSHOCK shirt which I couldn't wait for my birthday for. I bought it. Gogo, if you're reading this, this is what I used your Christmas money for. Thanks!

We walked past a bunch of other shops and then had to peek inside the Mac store for a second. Becky likes this happy guy.

After making a full circle through the Gateway we drove home and I had some of the delicious Marzipan cake that we bought at Siegfried's.

I love you!

A night with kids

Had a fun day at work today. Worked on posters for the new Bargain Tuesdays and taste tested pizzas at Spaghetti Mama's.
Then at 6pm I drove over to Mike & Carol's place to be with Becky and the kids and watch Brooke, Ashley and Max. The kids played and ate dinner. I found some toys to snap a picture for my 365 project. Then I read Max a few stories and sang him a song and then he went to bed happily. He's such a good kid.
Then Ashley wanted to play Wii with me. I thought this was funny so I have to share it.
Ashley weighed herself and found out she's overweight!
She doesn't look overweight to me, but I'm no fitness trainer.
We sat down and discussed some ways to change her lifestyle. Healthy Diet, Exercise and getting enough sleep. She made a goal to lose 10lbs in the next 6 months.
Ashley said she's going to work out on the Wii and work towards losing the weight to be more healthy. We'll check in with Ashley in 6 months to see how she's doing.
The kids colored pictures.
Parker made a castle. He's so creative.

Ice is bad

I slid on some ice today and smacked into another car. The other driver and I are ok but I got this out of it and my car messed of his axle.

Also, I found out that Natalie doesn't like cake. She's the first child I've ever met who doesn't like cake. How can you not like cake? I'm going to be working with her over the next few weeks to hopefully find a cure.

Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus

Cleaned today, took my photo of the day... and watched MEGA SHARK VS GIANT OCTOPUS!

The story starts out with Deborah Gibson in a mini sub somewhere in Alaska, I think. She and this other are looking at whales and marveling at how they swim. Above water there's a guy in a chopper who drops a sonar beacon into the water, for some reason I didn't quite understand, because the beacon makes the whales mad and swim madly into the icebergs. Then the ice cracks and frees the MEGA SHARK and the GIANT OCTOPUS.
Later Deborah finds one of the whales on shore with a giant tooth in it. The shark is angry that it lost a tooth, so in its rage it jumps out of the ocean and eats a commercial airplane.
Deborah then meets a scientist guy who heard about some oil drillers who were attacked by the octopus. He wants to help Deborah because he heard that she was dealing with a Mega Shark and he thinks they may be from the same time period. They decide that if the two creatures would meet up that they could fight and kill each other. How could they possibly get the two to meet?
As the two of them are sitting in a lab discussing possible solutions to their creature problem, Deborah gets up and says she's going for a walk - wink, wink. He follows her and the two of them end up fooling around in a near by office together. Then the guy goes on about how men and women are attracted to each other by smell. That's when lightning strikes and Deborah realizes that they just need to make a smell potion to attract the creatures to each other.
They try to ask Lorenzo Lamas for more time to make the potion before he sends subs out to hunt down the two creatures, but he says they're getting too close to the main land and he can't wait any longer. Lorenzo sends out the subs but the shark eats the subs like candy bars and then...
he chomps down the Golden Gate bridge for dessert. They finally get the potion made and release it into the ocean. The MEGA SHARK and the GIANT OCTOPUS smell the potion and are still hungry after eating 3 submarines and most of the Golden Gate bridge. They meet up and then we see the same battle footage four times but mirrored back and forth. The shark bites off a few tentacles but the octopus get a good strangle hold on the shark and they both sink to the bottom of the ocean. It was such a great movie! Maybe not as good as Avatar or Jurassic Park but I would say if you loved Jaws 4 then you'll love Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus.

After the movie I went through some things in the basement.
oh and here's something I forgot to post yesterday.
This happened on my way home last night.

Friday

Work was fun today. I worked on a few things for the upcoming Valentine's Day event for couples. For $109.00 you can take your love to a movie, share a popcorn and have a special dinner.

While working Blake and I played movie tag. One person starts by naming a movie and then the next person names another movie that starts with the same letter that the last movie ended with. It was fun and we played for the full 8 hours.

After work I dropped off some trash signs at the Megaplex 20 and gave
He-Man a ride home. He told me how Evil-Lyn doesn't trust King Randor to give Ram-Man a ride home to Eternia because she doesn't know him.
He-Man knows King Randor and trusts him and that should be enough. Evil-Lyn didn't like the idea and asked how He-Man would feel if Skeletor gave Ram-Man a ride home. Of course that is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone knows Skeletor can't be trusted, duh.

Becky and I were going to go out but ended up staying home. Which was probably better anyway because Becky was super tired. We don't get much sleep because almost every night Parker and Linkin have to sleep in our bed and whack us in the face all night.

So the kids played Batman Lego and I fiddled with my broken camera trying to get a picture for my 365 Toy Project. It's a pain. Something is messed up inside and I have to spin the gear after about every 3 shots in order to reset the shutter. I did manage to get a pretty good picture though.

What's Up

My last post was in December and now it's January. I think maybe I should update this.
waiting

I just had a nice 3 day weekend. We cleaned our house, watched Hoarders, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Paranormal Visitors, Disembodied Voices, The Apparition Files and The Scariness of Muercery.

Also, my Nikon is dying. I've done a little research and I guess that tends to happen after 40,000+ photos. I've taken well over that since I got it back in 2007. The shutter sticks and I tried fixing it but it didn't work. Now I'm able to take a few pictures before it locks up and I have to spin the gears again. D40x open

I'm doing a 365 photo project right now and have to switch over to a different camera until I can fix my camera situation. Feel free to follow along. I post a new picture every day for 365 days and today is day 73.
