See you later

My Dad passed away today. We'll see each other again sometime but until then he will be remembered in countless photographs I've taken.

Long ago we visited him in Florida.
He came with Becky & I to see Spider-Man at the Movies 9 theatre.

I visited him at Boswell's.
He loved to come over and see the kids.
He spent Halloween with us in October of '05

Jamie's Birthday 2006
Something that always made his day was when I would come see him for lunch. I spent many unforgettable lunches with my Dad.

His 60th Birthday in 2007

There was always a lot of goofing around.

Even when Mutti tried to get a nice photo of my Dad with his kids we couldn't be serious.

After 70 shots we did get one photo my Mom liked.
He was there to time me solving the cube.

and like I said he was always excited to make me a delicious lunch.
Now he's gone and it's hard to think we're not going to have any more Father/Son lunches, go shopping for a warm winter shirt, drive along the Oregon coast, visit Disneyland, ride down the Rattlesnake Rapids and get soaked, watch movies together and tease him about how Robocop and The Mummy Returns are two of the greatest movies ever made, or spend time playing Jenga or Pictionary and I'm really going to miss throwing the frisbee around. We first played Frisbee at the Nordsee. My Dad and Hagen and I went on vacation just the three of us. My Dad gave Hagen and I money to spend on souvenirs, but when we played frisbee he said we would lose a dollar for every time we didn't catch the frisbee. We walked away from the beach with zero dollars in our pockets. LOL. I look back at that day and always laugh now. Even years later when we would play frisbee every miss was labeled with "$2.00 off your Taschengeld", "Oh, that's too bad. $5.00 off your Taschengeld". Because of that trip I love to throw the frisbee around and will continue to carry on the tradition with my kids.
A couple weeks earlier we had the chance to talk through our web cams and he asked if I still had his Mickey hat. He wanted me to take care of it while he was in Germany. I told him that I did and so today I wore it along with his old work shirt that he gave me long ago. That's something he would always do, ask me if I still had the shirt he got me for my birthday or if I still wore the pants he got me. I would always tease him that people had asked to borrow those items and that hopefully I'll get them back soon, otherwise he would have to get me some new pants. He would laugh because he knew that I always cherished everything he ever got me and would never give any of it away.
So... today I wore his Mickey hat he asked about along with his shirt just in case he looked down on me and was wondering if I still wore his stuff.
I love him and I miss him.

New Window

The guys from the Central Glass Company fixed our broken window this morning. They did great work.
I worked on the new image for the Megaplex 20 box office today and then around 4:50pm I drove out to the 20 to take a few pictures of Deep Fried treats and a Bratwurst Sandwich. They were both good.

BREAKING NEWS

I had fallen asleep on the couch when Becky woke me up around 3:45am to hold Linkin while she made him a bottle. Right after she had the bottle made she came and took Linkin into the kitchen and then suddenly a flower pot came flying through our bay window. I jumped off the couch and Becky yelled, "Someone just threw something through the window!" Some $%^$*# threw a flower pot with flowers through our window! WTF!
Becky called the cops and they took forever to get here because they were dealing with drive-bys all night.

Becky called her Mom & Dad and they came out to help us patch up the hole until it's replaced.

The other strange thing is that they aren't our flowers. The jerks stole somebody's flowers and threw them through our window.
We are pissed, but Becky did this while vacuuming up the dirt and it made me laugh.
Seriously, WTF???

Out with R2

I was asked if my Photoshopped image of R2D2 on flickr could be included in a group of Astromech Photos.i St31N
So today I thought it would be funny to take R2 along and include him in the days events.

First I dropped off the kids at Grandma's.

Then I went to a screening of "9".
I liked it. It was cool and very dark. It's PG13 because it's scary and not a friendly "Finding Nemo". Younger kids might easily get frightened by some of the scary parts and the evil robots that have taken over the world.

R2D2 came with of course.
Rolling to the movies

After the movie I went skating and saw this on my way. This is what Hagen's ATV would look like if he ever owned one.

At 1:30pm I picked up Parker for his dentist appointment. He had one cavity.
He got two shots and didn't even flinch.

He did really good for all the stuff he had in his mouth.
R2D2 kept an eye on him.

Then we went back to Grandma's to get Linkin. Emily & Parker went with Amber & Lindsay to see Aliens in the Attic. They liked it. Linkin and I drove home and had lunch.
