We're just chillin' at home, watching Harry Potter.

Lazy Saturday

Slept in till 10am today. Surfed the internet and played Oblivian.
That about sums it up. Oh, and just now I made some hotdogs.

One funny thing actually happened today. In the early evening Becky & Parker went outside for a little and saw that someone had mowed our lawn. It was getting pretty tall, I'm guessing around 4-5 feet. With kids always running through our yard I think they must've gotten lost in our lawn maze, so someone came to rescue them and mowed it all down so the kids could find their way home. I'm surprised it even grew as high as it did.
Usually our lawn looks like this...

4th of July

Becky fell asleep at midnight and I kept playing till 3am.

Parker came in and woke us up at 8am all excited for the 4th of July. I colored my 4th of July t-shirt and then we drove to Grandma & Grandpa's house for the carpet parade! The kids caught lots of candy.

At 1:30pm we drove over to Mutti's house where we ate pulled pork sandwiches with potato salad, played in the sandbox
and set up Mutti's very own blog.

Axel had a bad day at work... and then he got covered in mud.

Once it got dark we set off fireworks and played with sparklers.

This is what Jamie brought to the firework show. The all powerful explosive chicken!
It's the brightest, most spectacular firework I've ever seen.

3

Today was great! It started off with $40 in gas. WooHoo for rising gas prices.

Then I had a breakfast burrito in the Mayan parking lot. Once I got to work I printed out some movie cards and gave John B. my game disk. Then I was off to deliver my Dark Knight poster to four different comic book stores, including Spider-Who's Comics.

I actually looked for Spider-Man comics at Spider-Who's Comics without any luck. Their S comics in the Marvel section go from "Son of M" to "Squadron Supreme".

At my last stop the comic book guy actually gave me a Spider-Man comic for FREE after I gave him my Dark Knight poster.
That made my day. In the evening Becky and I played Oblivian.

Day 2

Today I went upstairs to the projection booth to shoot some photos for an ad I was doing about Digital Projection. While I was walking from booth to booth the catwalk jumped out at me. It had a very industrial look to it. Very cool and mysterious.

Also, after work I worked on a project for my Mom and had to include a photo of the Toy Master.

The 31 Days of July

I've been inspired to try something. I will try over the next 31 days of July to snap a photo of something every day. Which really shouldn't be that hard since I pretty much have my camera with me everywhere I go.
It sounds like fun and it might create a nice little album of July 2008.

So, here we go...
Today Emily and Parker both had soccer games in the evening. Emily really gets into it but Parker seems to have maybe lost interest. I'm not sure if it's just the end of the day and he's tired or if he gets bored because he hardly gets to kick the ball.

Gavin got married! He really did!

Gavin got married and I have the photos to prove it.

Get Smart

Today Cal gave me a Kaos hat and a Control T-Shirt from the movie 'Get Smart'.
I kept the hat and gave the T-Shirt to Parker. Parker really earned the T-Shirt because lately he's been quoting the beginning of the 'Get Smart' trailer at different random times throughout the day. It just makes me laugh because first it's cute and secondly it amazes me how well he performs the scene. The Trailer

Siegfried: How do I know you're not from CONTROL?
Maxwell Smart: If I were from CONTROL, you'd already be dead.
Siegfried: If you were from CONTROL, YOU'D already be dead.
Maxwell Smart: Neither of us is dead, so I'm obviously not from CONTROL.
[long pause]
Shtarker: That actually makes sense.

I still got it

Went to Mutti's house. She needed some computer help.

I think Emily wants to be the next top model...

We had tacos for dinner.

I like tacos.

After dinner we all went outside to the driveway to see if I could still jump boxes.
Parker was excited and wanted to jump just like Daddy.

Emily wasn't so courageous.

My first try ended with me crashing.

I learned to rollerblade in this driveway many years ago. My highschool girlfriend, Marie, didn't have as much free time as I did. She had three jobs and couldn't spend a lot of time with me. I called her one weekend to see if we could go out and she said that she couldn't spend all her free time with me.
She told me to get a hobby.
After I hung up the phone I walked upstairs into the kitchen where Mutti was and I told her that Marie wanted me to get a hobby.
Mutti suggested skating. It sounded cool, so she took me down to Gart Brothers and she bougt me some rollerblades. As soon as we got home I spent the next several hours learning to skate until it started to rain. My whole body was in pain that night, but I continued practicing every day for the next two weeks until I could skate anywhere without being worried of falling down. Then one day while I was skating around the block, Marie and a friend of hers drove out to see me. We hadn't seen each other for a while. I told her that she wanted me to get a hobby, so I did. We talked for a little and then she drove off. I didn't want to stop skating and she didn't have any skates with her to join me, so she left.
Learning to skate is one of the best things I've ever done.
I skated all through my college years. I'd skate to and from campus, all around Cedar City and well into the late hours of the night sometimes.

Now I don't skate as much but it's nice to know that I've still got it.
