MMP

Today we went out to the Miller Motorsports Park to see some cool cars.

We drove my Dad's PT Cruiser.

Here are some shots of the museum.

This Cobra was in a bidding war between Larry Miller and George Lucas.

This one is worth $4.000.000

I made it past round one

On February 17th I was invited to compete in a photography tournament on Worth1000. For those of you who don't know what Worth1000 is, it's a Photoshop/Photography/Illustration/Writing competition site. My good friend Glenn introduced me to it four years ago. I joined on February 20, 2005 and have ben hooked ever since. I love it! It inspires me to be more creative. It's been a great learning tool and it's fun to look back and compare photos from then and now.

This was the very first photo I entered to W1K for a contest to shoot fruits and vegetables.
Uploaded on 3/24/2005 It ranked 23/36.

This was my second photo I entered for a contest to take a picture of eggs.
Uploaded on 3/31/2005 It ranked 18/41.

This photo was taken for a metal contest. It's a film can. Once movies go completely digital the new generation will never get to experience movies sent to the theatres in these beat up cans.
Uploaded on 6/16/2005 It ranked 39/76.

This was a fun shoot. Take a picture of something Stacked. I thought about it for several days because I wanted my photo to stand out. I went to McDonald's, bought four Big Macs and then created a burger you would only find in America. It placed 1st out of 44 entries.
Uploaded on 7/21/2005

I snapped my Predator figures for a Trinity Contest. It ranked 12/51 and since the admins of Worth liked my Predator shot so much they used it as a themepost for a Predator Photoshop contest.
Uploaded on 11/8/2005

This photo was taken for a Sideways contest. Shoot a picture of something and turn it 90 degrees. Instead of just snapping a picture of something and turning it sideways I wanted to create an illusion. I had my brother lay down on a chair while pouring water in a glass.
Uploaded on 12/12/2005 It ranked 5/83.

This is a house up in the Avenues. I took this photo for a One on One (Head to Head) 'Selective Desaturation' contest. It won.
Uploaded on 3/26/2006

This is one of my very favorite photographs. Emily posed as Carol Anne talking to the voices coming from the TV in the famous scene from the movie Poltergeist. I took it for a small contest against six other people where the object of the game was to recreate a famous movie scene.
My photo took 1st place.
Uploaded on 4/7/2006

I love Legos. In this contest photograph three very similar or same type objects.
Uploaded on 5/25/2006 It ranked 35/81.

Here's the photo I shot for the tournament and it won 1st place.
Credit needs to go to Cameron from the Megaplex 20 projection team for posing as the tired janitor who is in no way excited to clean up this chaos. From all the feedback I received for this photo, his slouched look of "Please No" is what created the perfect mood to tell the story.
Thank you Thomas for coming up with this awesome idea. Also, thank you Thomas and Sony for helping me stack boxes to create a bigger mess for the photo.

Those are ten photos out of the 165 photos I've entered so far. There will definitely be more to come...

Weathering the Storm

It's Friday night. Next Friday I'm going to Germany. It's been 12 and 1/2 years since I was last in Germany and I've wondered if I would ever go back.

I'm very thankful for my family and friends and their love.
This whole thing is just difficult and for now I'm just trying to weather the storm.

Booth of Chaos

Informative Lunch

Had lunch with Becky today at The Village Inn.
While we were talking Becky told me how work is good and that Canon has suffered a 91% drop in profit. They make copiers and cameras and have recently tried getting into the toilet wand and pie crust business to try and boost their profit. I don't know if it's going to work.
I also found out that Jennifer Aniston got a $50,000 haircut.
When I get a haircut I usually pay $12. I'm happy with how it looks.

Happy Birthday Jake Lloyd

If you don't know who Jake Lloyd is, then you haven't seen Star Wars Episode 1 or Jingle All the Way. I don't know what he's doing these days but I do know that today he's celebrating his 20th birthday.

Arlena made him some carrot cakes.

Earlier, before Arlena made her delicious carrot cakes, I took two more pictures for Peter's Little Italy pasta place he's opening at the Megaplex 20.

Rain turned to Snow

It was raining and now it's turned to snow. It's 2:00am and I stepped out to take some pictures of my Jeep. I love snow.

I really need a tarp to cover the Jeep.

Right Now

There's so much happening right now.
Have you ever had so much on your mind that you feel drained, happy, sad, hurt, overjoyed...?
So many things running through your head that you just want to run till you can't run any further and collapse because you're so tired. Then you can sleep without laying up all night staring at the ceiling. I guess that's why I'm up late right now. I'd go skating, but it's raining. Thus my photographs and photoshop give me a chance to let go until my eyes become heavy.
Why is everything so heavy in the future?

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp's next movie opens July 1st.
