A day inside

Pops didn't want to walk around in the rain today so we spent the whole day inside. We watched National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and in the evening Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I recorded the game shows and movies on DVD so my Dad would have something to watch in English.
He likes watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
I spent most of the day on my favorite spot in the house. It made Roland laugh how I loved just sitting on my bed, so he took some pictures.

Roland has a huge couch but I prefer the bed.
Before every movie Roland prepares the Nasch Plate Extravaganza.

LEGO Day in Köln

Woke up at 7am this morning, took a shower, got dressed and then I grabbed my camera battery from the charger that had issues in the night during charging. Something went wrong with the power converter in the middle of the night and I had to disconnect it. Something burned on the inside and it started clicking. When I put the battery in my camera this morning it was unresponsive. The auto focus didn't work at all and since it wouldn't focus it wouldn't release the shutter. I switched the lens to manual and focused on the houses in the backyard and then it snapped the shot. Whew! Then when I switched it back to auto just to give it a second try it worked, but I think my charger might be fried because it still smells burnt. I'm not going to charge the battery again with the converter, so I hope my battery lasts for the rest of the trip.

Roland and I drove over to Stefan's place to pick him up. We drove over to the Bahnhof and then had breakfast before catching the train at 10:00am
We arrived in Köln at 1:00am and started walking. We crossed the Hohenzollernbrücke that leads right to the Kölner Dom.

A new fashion for lovers in Köln...
Lovers buy a padlock, engrave their names and lock it to the fence on the Hohenzollernbrücke in Cologne as as symbol of their love. They throw away the key into the river Rhine hoping their love will last forever.

Here's an article about it.

Once we arrived at the Dom we went inside to climb the 509 steps to the top. The tower is 475 feet tall and you climb the stairs in a spiral. It was raining but once we got to the top the sun came out for a few minutes. By the time we made it back to the bottom it was raining again.

Our next stop was the LEGO Store.

It was awesome and A LOT of fun! Stefan and I spent 2 and 1/2 hours in the store making figures out of the boxes of body parts and filling a mug full of a wide variety of pieces from the spheres on the wall.

This set is exculsive to the store and is 100 Euro. If I had had an extra 100 € then I would've bought it. It's a Limited Edition.

Here's a picture I took just for Becky und sie weiß warum ich das photo gemacht habe.

Die lösung ist unten.
FRÜH. FRÜH!

This billboard made me think of Becky. I miss you like crazy and I'm bringing back a lot of Schokolade. We can share some chocolate. :)
