Corvette Summer
So today Becky went with the kids and Jamie to some kind of carnival where the kids got to crawl around in a giant butt.
They had fun.
In the evening Natalie came over to play. At dinner time the kids had fun once again eating noodles

and Natalie had to sing a song about treats and playing with a fork.
After the kids went to sleep Becky & I watched Corvette Summer, a movie that my Dad has been talking about for a long time and told me I should watch since I love Corvettes.

We liked it.

The Express and Soft Target

Today I went to a screening of "The Express" for Cal.
Based on a true story, the movie follows the extraordinary life of college football hero Ernie Davis, the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy.

It was a great movie.
Then in the evening it was time to step back into the B Movie world. Tonight's Special presentation was Soft Target. Not to be mistaken withHard Target.

The movie revolves around two police detectives who have to protect a girl from mob hitmen.
It stars Don "The Dragon" Wilson
and Gary Busey.
Unfortunately I can't give a complete rundown of the movie because I fell asleep shortly after a boring shoot out in a parking lot. But there was a scene right before it where Don was trying to question some guy in a bar...
Don: Have you seen any girls in here?
Bar Thug: What do you mean?
Don: I'm looking for a girl?
Bar Thug: You mean like your sister?
Don: No, I mean a girl who's missing and I'm looking for her.
Bar Thug: Like I said, I don't know what you mean.
After not getting any information from the guy, Don walks over to his partner and complains to him about the guy not cooperating. It went something like this...
Don: He wouldn't tell me anything. He didn't understand what I meant.
Partner: What do you mean?
Don: I tried to tell him about the girl but I guess I couldn't explain myself well.
Partner: What do you mean?
Don: I tried to tell him that we're looking for a girl but we don't know where she is so we're trying to find someone who does because that would help us find her.
Partner: I don't know what you mean. Let me go talk to him...
So his partner walks over to the thug, punches him in the stomach and smacks his head on the pool table. Then the thug told him that he saw the girl a little while ago.

logos
Today was fun. I finished up the Spaghetti Mama's menu. Now "sauce" is one word and doesn't have a separate "e".

Then Peter wanted his logo changed. He didn't like what I created
so I made it his way so he would be happy.

I've always liked logo design. I think it's a lot of fun. Becky gave me a book long ago called What logos do and how they do it.
It's a great book and I refer to it when I need inspiration.
This is the logo I created for the UofU Stroke Center.

What makes a good logo?

Just pretty
America's Next Top Model update.
This girl was cut tonight for being "just pretty." You have to be more than "just pretty" to be the next top model.

Cornelius was a graphic designer
Worked on the new Spaghetti Mama's menu today.
I was given the original Illustrator file of the menu so that I could simply make the changes...

but there was a problem. The menu was designed by Cornelius.

He obviously hadn't learned how to use Illustrator in the best way possible. He figured out how to draw a text box but what he didn't figure out was that you can fill a text box with complete sentences and even paragraphs of text.
He decided to make hundreds of text boxes containing as many as 1-5 letters per box.

For example: When we click on the word "sauce" only the first four letters are in the text box
and the letter "e" was given it's very own text box.
Why you ask? I don't know why. If anybody knows why please tell me. Maybe I'm not seeing the benefit of many, many text boxes. I would ask Cornelius but he doesn't work with us anymore.
After spending some time creating a whole new menu for Spaghetti Mama's Kristy and I had lunch in the food court. I had a cheese quesadilla and she had a corndog, they're the cheapest things in the food court. Everything else is between $10.50 and $29.99.
At 4pm I left to go take pictures at the Megaplex 20. The Events staff had an event going on and I took some pictures of the set-up.

On my way home I snapped a photo of the sunset.

Beautiful Night
Stopped up at Mutti's house after work, my tripod wasn't there. I did see Julie though, she lives right across the street. Who knew? Obviously I didn't.
As I arrived home the full moon was barely rising.
The kids ran outside to see it and I had my camera.

Hi Mutti,Während du in Deutschland bist dachte Ich das du Carlo dieses video zeigen könntest, da wir das andere video nicht fertig hatten bevor du gegangen bist.
Hallo Martina, Stefan, Roland, Carlo, einfach grüße an alle.
Ich hoffe alles ist gut mit euch.
Habt Ihr "The Pursuit of Happyness" gesehen? Es ist ein wunderschöner Film. Will Smith kann das Zauberwürfel in eine minute fertig machen.
Meine durchschnittszeit ist ungefähr 1 Minute 30 Sekunden.

We all wear masks...
metaphorically speaking.
This afternoon we had the opportunity to wear several different masks. Jamie came by and went out shopping with Emily. So, Becky & I went out with Parker. He's going crazy counting down the days to when he can play on a playground again. The three of us drove to South Towne Mall.
As we left we noticed the house next door is no longer vacant.

Parker loves riding the escalator.

Sauron was having a sale at Middle-Earth's Blades & Battle Axes Store.

He was hungry for a cookie.

Don't worry Josh, you can have some as soon as it's gone.

Hello Kitty joined us why we were in the mall. Parker's afraid of her, she's just too girly.

They have a Halloween store open and we just had to go in.
Parker loves Halloween.

This mask and all the others were pretty scary, but there was one mask so frightening that it can't be posted. "No way", you say. I'm serious. Some kids think Freddy Krueger or even Jigsaw wear scary masks, but this mask that I can't show makes those guys look like Bambi and Flower.

While we were trying on ALL of the different masks Ned Bozgano asked us if we needed help finding anything.
He was very friendly.

On our way out of the mall we walked through Macy's. In Macy's they sell medieval battle straps that women used to wear in combat during the 4th century. They seem to be IN again.

We had McDonald's for lunch, again. I'll be doing push-ups tonight.

Oh Josh, you can have some of Parker's cookie now. He's done with it.
