Cloudy Day

I LOVE cloudy days. Today was beautiful. I had to get out and shoot some pictures.
I'll probably put this shot on my desktop. I can't decide which I like more so I'm showing both versions. Feel free to let me know what you think.

Valentine's Day

Before breakfast we played with the kids and Parker's action figures.

Becky made crepes that we filled with creamy delicious Nutella, lots of it.

This is how they make Nutella crepes at IHOP.

This is how to make a real Nutella crepe. For best results, to really taste the chocolatey goodness, you should apply 2-3 coats of Nutella.

After breakfast we took the kids to go see Ink Heart. It was a good movie. The kids loved it.

Poster Day

My computer is still down after crashing yesterday, so I spent the day changing out posters in the Jordan Commons office tower and at the baseball stadium. After taking down the Mayan posters in the office tower (finally) I had lunch with Becky at noodles & company. It was great.
I had the whole grain tuscan linguine with shrimp.

Afterwards I met up with Thomas & Josh and we drove out to the stadium to change the posters on display.

These U23D posters are EVERYWHERE! Does it ever end? This is for Sean, he needs to find closure and move on to other IMAX movies.

Our next stop was to pick up some signs for $100.
This is what happens when you leave Thomas and Josh in your car with your camera.

After everything was taken care of the three of us walked over to Target. Josh wanted some Legos.

Then we bought the last six packs of Indiana Jones Masterpieces cards. Now we both have the complete set. Yeah, we're geeks.

I also bought a Marzipan Ritter Sport, one of my favorite kinds of chocolate from Germany.
Luft-Schokolade is #1.

The News

It snowed yesterday and this morning. It was cold.

In the evening Becky & I watched Fringe and then the News at 9pm.
Jodi Saeland reported on the weather, which was very informative.

As far as our economy goes, the world's largest retailer, WAL-MART, announced that it will build fewer stores in 2009 and stop selling Cheetos. They've decided to roll back until 2010 when they will roll forward and build four Wal-Marts per five square miles across the United States, out of every four stores one will be a Super Center.

Then there was more talk about stimulation, particularly in Utah.

Even Wyatt Earp says Utah isn't getting enough stimulation.

Desktop for Thomas

Hey Thomas, I made you something to add to your collection of JG desktops.

I made this for Sean and now I'm invited to the premiere IMAX screening of TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen!

Burrito & Rogue Ponies

Had to drive out to the Megaplex 20 today to get some new photos for the food court menu signs. Like this delicious looking burrito.

After that I hung out with Thomas for a while. In his office he has a shelf with various toys, some of which have no doubt been influenced by the dark side of Darth Maul.

Cleaning & Chef Ramsay makes a Grilled Cheese

We spent the morning cleaning. I did laundry and Becky helped the kids clean their room. It looked like a tornado went through it. Emily came downstairs to show me something she found in the room. "Dad, I found this piece of chicken on our shelf and it's been there since I was six," she told me. "Ok," I replied. But then I had to ask myself how she knew that the chicken had been there that long and then I wondered how she even knew that that thing was chicken?
After cleaning it was time to play!

Around 8pm Thomas & Sony came by. Sony played DS with the kids while Thomas and I traded Indiana Jones cards and then watched the scary episode of The Barty Crouch Show. It's great story telling, such a fantastic show. This is the third time I've seen that episode and I still don't understand what's going on.

After that we watched Kitchen Nightmares. In this episode Chef Ramsay was trying to teach the Chef of the Grilled Cheese Restaurant how to properly make a grilled cheese sandwich and cook potatoes.

First the chef deep fried the potatoes and tried to convince Gordon they were cooked in the oven.
Restaurant Manager: These taste bitter. Did you deep fry these potatoes?
Chef: No, dese hava not been deep fried.
Chef Ramsay: They are wrinkled, dehydrated and they have been in the deep fat fryer.
Chef: That's not de-hy-drated.
Chef Ramsay: You're talking to a chef and for as long as I've got a hole in my butt big boy those BLEEPING potatoes have been in the deep fat fryer. Don't BLEEPING lie.
Chef: Look, day went in dee ofen.
Gordon Ramsay: Don't BLEEPING lie.

Then it was time to make a grilled cheese sandwich. The chef would fill the pan with kerosene, throw in the bread and set it on fire. Once the bread was charred black he would throw on some cheese and a jar of mayonnaise.

Gordon Ramsay: What the BLEEP are you doing you BLEEP head? That's not how you BLEEPING make a BLEEPING grilled cheese sandwich. Are you BLEEPING kidding me? You call yourself a BLEEPING chef? Let me BLEEPING show you how to make a BLEEPING grilled cheese and... for as long as I have a hole in my butt, don't you ever make a BLEEPING grilled cheese your way EVER AGAIN!"

Strong Links

In the evening we spent time together decorating baskets and teaching the kids how we can be stronger and closer to each other. We each have a basket now to leave little notes when someone does something nice for someone. It was a really nice activity that Becky put together.
