Lunch with Thomas

Thomas and I had lunch today.


Then we took a walk over to Target. The Target employees had an eye on Thomas. He's not allowed to play with the toy animals but we found these puppets.

Happy Birthday Emily

Emily really wanted to get her ears pierced, so that's what we did. It didn't hurt and she loves her new earrings.

Megacom is Coming

You have probably heard of Comic-Con, the giant comic book and sci-fi convention. Now Megaplex is going to be giving it a shot. If you like Wolverine or Star Trek it's time for you to dip yourself in adamantium, put on a Trekkie latex suit and beam yourself over to either the Megaplex 17 or Megaplex 13 Theatre.

She called our insurance to find out why they were denying my doctor visit.

Becky: B... E... C... K... Y...
Droid: Thank you. Now please spell your last name.
Becky: GU
Droid: I'm sorry. Please speak slower.

Droid: Thank you. Is your name B-E-C-K-Y G-U-E-R-T?
Becky: NO! I wasn't done yet!

Two weeks

It's been two weeks now of coughing. I've taken three kinds of cough syrup, ibuprofen, tylenol, I've used an inhaler and with the prescribed antibiotics I've pretty much experienced every side effect except for yellowing of the skin and vaginal itching.
Becky put it nicely when she said the side effects are like Pokémon -
I gotta catch 'em all!

It's been said that laughter is the best medicine so I'm glad Becky's here with me. I should also thank her Dad, Jamie, Thomas and Sean for sharing some laughs with me that might help me get well because all the other stuff doesn't seem to be working.

Skin rash

It's my second day on clarithromycin and I'm already experiencing one of the many side effects. After hours of Sleep, TV, sleep, TV, I had to get out a little and enjoy my skin rash on our steps. Emily came to join me on her favorite spot, leaning on my back.

I've got Bronchitis and temporary Asthma

I went to the doctor again this morning at 9:15am. I've been coughing since Monday, April 6th.
So I went in to see what's going on and found out my wheezing and coughing is from my lungs tightening. Several viruses cause bronchitis, including the flu. I also found out that bronchitis can occur when you inhale irritating fumes, dusts, chemical solvents and smoke, including tobacco smoke. Tobacco smoke. Now that's interesting since I was exposed to tobacco smoke when I was in Germany. Well isn't that freakin' dandy.

Dr. Owen gave me some antibiotics and an inhaler for my shortness of breath.

It gets worse, Becky and Emily have it too.

Easter Sunday

The kids woke up early excited about their Easter baskets. They had eggs filled with dried apples.


I tried to get a few pictures of them in their new Easter outfits



but they can't pose for long before they just need to let loose.

Giving eggs some color

I'm still coughing. It's a pain, but I did take a break from resting to go with Becky and the kids to do a little shopping. We bought a bunch of groceries and of course some eggs.

Save money, recycle

Today I spent my day at home coughing. I also got to spend time with Emily and Parker since they have no school for the next few days. The kids went to Natalie's birthday party later in the day and I wrapped her present. 

The kids and I watched my favorite movie.

Can't Stop Coughing

Went to the doctor today because I can't stop coughing. Parker thought these bones in the doctor's office were cool and wanted to see a whole skeleton, but they didn't have one.

Emily took pictures of everything.

Emily thought this was a strange computer.

The kids got to pick out some prizes for being patient in the office.

Parker took his sticker and stuck it on my Jeep window.

Work and Monsters vs Aliens

Time to change the posters again.

After work I met up with Becky & the kids at the 20 to watch Monsters vs Aliens. Thomas & Sony came with too. Before the movie we had dinner at the theatre. We got two plates of spaghetti for $39.95, a taco salad for $29.99 and a hot dog with no bun for only $19.95. Thomas went to 'Mountain of Wok Food' and got two mountains of food for $1.99.

The kids loved the movie. 

Emily likes B.O.B. and Parker's favorite character is Link.
